English News
It has been very busy in the English space this term. The Premiers' Reading Challenge has come to an end, Book Week was celebrated and we have had some exceptional writing going on across the school in preparation for the Open Book Sessions.
Writing
We'd love to take an opportunity to highlight some of the writing pieces from our students across the school that blew our teachers away. This term, all students from Prep to Year Six took the time to look at their writing, and to set goals that would assist them in improving their overall writing. We have been so pleased with the quality of writing across the school, as students have used this medium to respond to their learning in topic.
The students in the middle school explored Australian's settlement history and wrote from the perspective of a convict on the first fleet. These stories really take you back in time and highlight the exemplary writing happening across our school.
Our Junior Students were busy studying a family artefact and writing a biography to showcase their knowledge of writing to inform.
Again, we have been so impressed with the growth of our most junior students.
Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge
It's our pleasure to acknowledge the following students who have completed the Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge in September. As a group, these children read and experienced almost 1800 books in their own time. We look forward to acknowledge these students more formally when the certificates arrive at St Joseph's.
