Dear parents and guardians,
It’s hard to believe that it’s the end of Term 3. It’s been a busy, but exciting term with the athletics carnival, camp, QVM excursion, Tomorrow’s Leaders for Sustainability, Market Day and more.
Market Day Wrap Up
Thank you so much for your support during the preparation and running of Market Day. We sincerely appreciate your financial and physical contributions prior to and on the day. It was a mammoth effort. The day went so well, the vibe was awesome, and the students were consummate entrepreneurs. The students completed their post market reflections, and we were very pleased with their mature analysis of their businesses. We raised $6,332.
Scrapbooking
Towards the end of next term, the students will embark on their Primary Years Scrapbook. They will write a short piece about each year of their schooling, and they will include school photographs from each year. Students can create an album, a scrapbook or a digital album. The holidays is a great time to sort through your albums with your child and to print photos that they can bring to school. Albums and scrapbooks can be purchased at Officeworks, Big W and other department stores.
Graduation & Graduation PowerPoint
Graduation is Wednesday 11th of December. Students will come to school for activities in the morning, then go home to get changed and come back at 5.15 for photos and the ceremony. On the night we show a PowerPoint of the children through their school years. Stay tuned for family homework to create your PowerPoint at home next term.
Literacy
Our students have been reading the beautiful story The Tale of the Whale and using it as inspiration to create their own unique versions. Each student selected an animal and explored how a negative human activity impacts that species. From there, they planned, drafted, edited, and published their own stories. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication in crafting these beautiful narratives.
Maths
In Maths, students have learned about ratios and proportions. They have been completing worded problems, including the ratio of cordial to water, milo to milk and fence posts to wire. We finished the term with revision, in preparation for clinic groups to consolidate our Maths understanding during the students' final term at primary school.
Buddies
This week our Buddies celebrated the impending AFL Grand Final by creating a jersey for their sporting team (AFL, NRL, soccer, basketball etc).
Homework
If you would like your child to complete work at home, you can complete the following:
Reading - it is important that students read for 20 minutes, most nights.
Maths - there are revision sheets available in the Homework folder on Teams. Students are encouraged to complete the Problem of the Week in this newsletter or go to the Problem-Solving folder on Teams.
We look forward to working with you next term, as the children complete their final year of primary school. Have a wonderful, relaxing holiday.
