What's Happening In Secondary

Welcome to Term 4!

Welcome back to Term 4! So much to do, and so little time! I love Term 4 because it is a time to celebrate, acknowledge success and growth, reflect on the year and set ourselves up for the year ahead.

We are excited to welcome two classes of Year 7 students in 2025. Transition to Secondary will include an orientation day and a Year 7 induction evening. We will also be launching information for Year 9 students, including an orientation day outlining our Beyond Program (which includes The Rite Journey). In addition, students are currently selecting their option subjects for next year.

This term is packed with exciting events, including the swimming and surf carnivals (in partnership with Leighland), our postponed Outdoor Education camp and preparations for our Celebration Service and Secondary Breakfast celebrations. We will also be meeting new staff members and welcoming new DCS students who will join us in Year 7 next year.

Congratulations to Caleb and Armi for organising a fantastic photography competition during Mental Health Week. We had 18 thoughtful entries, capturing what helps people feel calm and grounded. A special congratulations to Avé for her winning submission—what will she spend her prize money on?

Finally, our new options subjects kick off this term including; sewing, bike mechanics, drawing, Auslan, creative writing and electronic music, just to name a few.
