Principal Announcements
Congratulations to Archer House for taking out this year's Athletics Carnival!
St Mary’s Mooroopna is a very special place for myself, Karen and my boys. I will be forever grateful for the 16 years of joy and enrichment I have received as principal here. When I reflect on the many achievements and successes the school has had over this time, I feel very proud to have had the privilege to play a part. Please take the time to read my farewell letter below:
Our school council chair Kylie Glover has asked me to include the attached farewell speech she made at a joint parish and school council dinner last week and time lapse video of the fantastic painting that was done in my honour. I was even presented me with my very own Principal's Award! Thank you for such kind gestures Kylie!

It's the biggest comeback since Lazarus! I was astounded to see Mons Peter back in the parish house this week, his resilience is remarkable! He has recovered well from surgery and is recuperating at home. He has asked me to thank the students for their wonderful cards that cheered him up while he in hospital. We look forward to seeing him back around the school soon.
St Mary's own Maree Williams has been awarded a Recognition of Service Award and has been elected as a League Life Member for the GVFL.
Maree is described as being the heart and soul of the Shepparton Swans. She is loved by everyone who has ever been or is currently involved with the club.
Maree manages the day to day running of the Shepparton Swans canteen for the senior and junior club and mends and washes the playing jumpers for all teams. Maree is the key driver in an annual cup that is contested annually between the Swans and Mooroopna.
Congratulations Maree, we are all very proud of you!
Every minute matters. This is a simple statement, but a true one. For every minute a child is at school they learn. For every minute they are absent they not only miss out on learning, but they also lose some previous learning - a double whammy!
Congratulations to the Gr 3-6 students for presenting the Italian Cafe last week. The bambinos enjoyed hosting family members and serving up some italian fare! Thank you to Mrs Davkovski for organising such a great activity. I loved the photo booth! Bravo!
Our Gr 1/2 students had a wonderful trip to the Melbourne Zoo last week. They enjoyed learning about the animals and had lots of fun exploring the zoo. Thank you to the teachers for organising the trip and to all the parents who assisted with supervision.
Good luck to Miss Brown, Lauren Murray and Miss Gattuso in the B grade GV netball grand final this week! Go Cats! We also wish Billy Cooper all the best for Congupna in the Murray league GF on Saturday.
Thank you to Mrs. Hicks and all students who were involved in Friday's mass for the birthday of Mary. I would like to particularly thank the students who participated in my farewell slideshow. It was very touching. Thank you!
Please note that all students that arrive at school prior to 8:30am must fill out an application via the link below. I appreciate everyone's understanding and cooperation regarding this.
9th September Neveah Collins
Nevaeh is a responsible and respectful student who has a great ability to connect anyone she associates. Neveah has a great sense of humour and always maintains a cheerful attitude. Thank you for sharing your joy with others Neveah!
16th September Hayley Glover
My very last principal’s award goes to Hayley who has always been an A grade student in every sense of the word. She is mature and responsible, which makes her an excellent leader and role model. She is always joyful, happy and has a great sense of humor. Sorry for keeping you waiting so long for the principal's award Hayley, you certainly deserve it!
Just a reminder, with Friday being the last day of term school will conclude at 2:20pm. All buses will run an hour early.
A girl came out of the library with book 1m wide and I asked her how come it was so big? She said "It's a long story!"
I was talking to a weasel at the supermarket the other day and I asked it what does it call it's grandfather? "Pop" goes the weasel.
