CSPS Concert Reflections

This was my last ever school concert but it was definitely the most exciting one. I have never been on the stage performing more than once but this year I had three performances and 2 MC speeches! My favourite performance I was in was drum corp because I got to play the Burundi drums AKA the bins. I loved being in the ‘Rock This Party’ dance and being able to do cool stunts and flips. Overall this night was perfect and it was the best ever C.S.P.S concert.

That was the most extraordinary concert I've witnessed at this school. Drum corp with the addition of Burundi drums, the exceptional singing & choreographed dance routines, each more captivating than the last. Certainly everyone’s creative costumes, can’t forget the MC’s who have just completed an exhibition and then not long after constructed spectacular speeches. Finally finishing with a bang; the annual teacher’s dance.

-Benji S Year 6

To start the night off with a bang, the drum corp performed a brand new piece made by Sandy Hood. I looked to my right and their choir was performing Party In the USA. The preps really liked moving and grooving, getting to perform their first school concert with all their favourite zoo animals. The year 1s really proved that they are ‘Super Troupers’. The fired up year 2s really knew how to shake their nerves away. As the year 3s showed us what their hats look like they knew what to reach for as they were performing. The first interval dance wanted me to swing my partner round and round. As the orchestra was performing we knew they would make it into the Hall Of Fame some time. The second interval dance was making everybody dance now. The year 4s had us blown away just like fire. As the year 5s showed us how to jump we were blown away with their performance. As they stumbled through their last school concert, the Year 6s had an incredible night making sure they hustled and came alive having the best night possible. Thank you to all the teachers for helping get these amazing outfits and organising this amazing night.

Nerves were everywhere; you couldn't cut the tension with a chainsaw. Parents were so excited as they came on stage and this was the BEST concert this school has seen. The teacher’s dance was out of this world, superheroes flying everywhere, cowgirls and timber signs, dancing all night, we can tell all the grades put in their BEST efforts. The Year 6s blew the concert away with their last ever dance. MC speeches were fantastic and having the opportunity to write them was such a highlight.

The final concert for the year 6s of C.S.P.S. has just finished and it is something people will be talking about for quite some time. The highlight for this concert was the Year 6s fantastic dance moves and songs like hustler, but besides that, the Year 6 dance groups or interval dances were the most popular part of the night by far! (Read for more details)

Before the intermission, the first year 6 dance group went up on the stage and performed the song ‘Timber’. The first dance group went very well, and the crowd was deafening when their song finished. Their performance on the night was spectacular.

After the intermission, the second group of year 6 dancers came on and performed the song, 'Rock This Party', and people in the crowd sang along during the performance. It was the highlight of the night!

Our final performance starred the whole grade of year 6s, but after the 'final' performance the 'Masters Of Ceremonies' started a chant to get one last performance and it was the teachers dance and the year 6s were sitting on the stage while the teachers danced.

After the concert, people said it was great and the year 6s did very well.
