Year 6 Spotlight

Dear School Community,

We are excited to reflect on the incredible journey our Year 6 students recently completed during their PYP Exhibition this term. This year’s central idea, "By understanding our influence as consumers, we can make informed decisions that can make a positive change in the world around us," guided their research, thinking, and collaborative efforts as they explored the complex and interconnected nature of ethical consumerism.

Over the course of several weeks, our students explored essential questions about how consumer systems function and how their elements are interconnected. They delved into issues that were both complex and relevant, challenging themselves to think critically about topics like sustainability, ethical production, and fair trade. By engaging with these real-world concerns, they came to understand the direct impact of consumer habits on our planet and its people. Their research was rigorous, and their findings led to a more informed perspective on how to approach being responsible consumers in a rapidly changing world.

We take this opportunity to celebrate their hard work and dedication. Presenting their findings to the wider school community was a proud moment for all involved, highlighting not only the depth of their understanding but also their ability to communicate these complex ideas to others.

Finally, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our Year 6 families for their ongoing support throughout this journey. Your encouragement and involvement were invaluable in helping your children succeed. We are proud of what they’ve accomplished and look forward to seeing how they will continue to apply these important lessons in the years to come.

We hope you enjoyed the Exhibition and found inspiration in the remarkable work of our students.
