Learning in M26

Middle School Breadon is sharing the learning taking place in their class…

M26 Camp Adventures!

During Week 7, our Year 4 students all went to the amazing Phillip Island Adventure Resort for a 3-day camp. Though the weather was a bit wild, our Springers showed some fantastic resilience and were able to experience so many new and exciting things. They braved the giant swing, torpedoed down the flying fox, made like monkeys across the low ropes course and bouldering wall, tried their hand at archery, fried up some yummy pancakes and traversed the grounds on a nature scavenger hunt.

There was also a super fun trip to A Maze’n Things, where they got lost in the mirror maze, dropped down the giant slide, navigated the outdoor maze and played some mini-golf, among many other interesting activities. Some of our students were also lucky enough to go on a short walk to Smiths Beach for a quick paddle and play in the sand.

This was a special bonding experience for all our students and here’s what M26 thought about it:

“The flying fox was my favourite because I was so excited and it was really, really fun. It was so fast, and I was nervous, but I still did it.”  ~ Mason C

“I loved the giant swing! I was really scared to do it, but I did it anyway. The entire camp experience was AMAZING. I’m proud of doing the giant swing because I have a real fear of heights.” ~ Alyssa

“The giant swing was also my favourite! My second favourite thing about camp was A Maze’n Things. It was so cool. I loved it, except for the giant slide. I wanted to go on it, but I was too scared.” ~ Catelynn

“The nature spotto was very challenging because we had to find the secret word with hidden letters that could be hiding anywhere around the whole camp.” ~ Alex L

“I liked camp because of how weird and creative all the activities were, especially A Maze’n Things.” ~ Anya

“Camp was really amazing, and I can’t pick a favourite thing overall. It was just the best!” ~ Zak

“I liked the camp cooking because it was fun, and I like to cook.” ~ Kasie

“The three things I was proud of at camp were the giant swing, the flying fox and A Maze’n Things. I loved A Maze’n things! The giant slide was scary, but I loved it, and I went on it two times.” ~ Manseerat
