Learning

Today is Indigenous Literacy Day. To celebrate and support remote Indigenous communities, the SRC hosted The Great Book Swap.

The children donated books they no longer need to our book swap. Our SRC members, James, Sam and Harry advertised the event and organised the tables and Amira helped out today.

All the money raised will be donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, which will provide much needed literacy resources to remote communities throughout Australia.

You can find more information and activities for ILD here: https://go.greatbookswap.org.au/

Welcome to Country & Smoking Ceremony

On Friday 6th September we will have a Wurundjeri elder visit our school to conduct a smoking ceremony and Welcome to Country. This ties in with Indigenous Literacy Day on Wednesday 4th September and is a way to celebrate the planting of our Indigenous garden earlier in the year.

If you would like to attend, the gate to the yard will be open from 2:35pm for you to make your way over to the garden.
