From the Principal's Desk
Dear Parents,
I hope you all enjoyed some time with family and friends over the weekend and we celebrated fathers and those special people in our lives. Thank you so much to the many families who have wished me well on my pilgrimage and travels. I look forward to sharing many, many photos and stories with you all. In my absence, please see Mr Reed and Ms Franca.

Last Friday so many Dads and special people joined us for a morning activity, photos and coffee, donuts and catchups. Thank you to Ms Franca & Mr Reed for being our baristas. Thank you to Julia and the BPC volunteers for organising the stall and to all those who attended our celebration. It was lovely to see so many ‘Mini-Mes' in the classrooms.
SunSmart
It is a requirements of our SunSmart accreditation & policy that students and staff wear hats from the beginning of September until the end of April. Research shows that it is this time of year, even on overcast days, that the UV is at its most dangerous. All students are required to wear a school hat during all outdoor activities. Our policy of ‘No Hat, No play' means that students will be unable to play in the yard if they do not have their hats.
Learning Conversations
A reminder our final Learning Conversations session for this year will be held on Tuesday 10th September, between 3.30 and 6.00 pm. These are compulsoryand each student is to attend with at least one parent. Students take great pride in sharing their learning and their classrooms with you so this session is very important. If you have not made a booking please do so as soon as possible.
One Night Only
On Tuesday 29th October from 6:00pm- 8:00pm we will hold the premier of our ‘stop motion clips’ together with a display of the amazing art work of our students. We will share more information but make sure you save the date & time, but all families are welcome!
This week the students added audio to their video with the help of Brett from Cardytoons.
Accounts - Fees & Levies
Final instalments for school fees and levies are now overdue. Accounts are being sent home this afternoon and we ask that you settle these by Monday 16th September at the latest. If you are experiencing financial difficulties please make appointment to meet with me.
Uniform - Hair
A number of students have been wearing their hair out. Our policy states that shoulder length or longer hair MUST be tied back at school.
This is to limit the spread of nits/ lice which are in the school at the moment. We ask for your support in ensuring that your child’s hair is tied back if it is shoulder length or longer.
MACSSIS Parent Surveys (Monday 2nd - Friday 20th September)
Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS) are a set of tools for creating, collecting, analysing, interpreting and using data to inform Catholic school improvement. MACSSIS produces perception data, which tells us what different people in a school community think and feel about their learning environment.
At this time of the year we select 50 random families to complete an online survey that usually takes between 15-30 minutes. Those families will have received an email from the school that will provide you with the link to access the survey, an individual pin number (password) and information explaining the process.
The survey link is now open, we ask that all selected families complete the survey as this provides us with important information in our forward planning for the school. Please complete the survey before Friday 20th September.
Save the Date - Grandparents Morning
Our annual Grandparents morning will be held on Friday 25th October. Grandparents and Special People are all welcome. Invitations will be sent home early next term.
