Information for Year 12 students and families
Best wishes to the class of 2023, who will be receiving their VCE results in the coming days. Key dates that all students and families need to be aware of can be found here. This is a very busy time for VTAC and the tertiary institutions, who will be working through student preferences and making offers over the course of December, January and February. VTAC has a range of resources and webinars for Year 12 students and their families to aid them through this time.
In order to assist during the very short change of preference period between December 11th and December 13th, VTAC has put together this helpful resource covering the contact details and support offered by the various tertiary institutions in Victoria.
- VTAC is also offering a range of webinars to support students and families with understanding results, change of preferences and offers. Recordings of past webinars can also be found here.
- I will be available to support students during the change of preference periods. Students and/or parents should first contact me by email or phone to set up a meeting either in person or on MS Teams.
Year 9 students: Morrisby Profile
Earlier this week, Year 9 students completed the Morrisby Profile. This online profile is an excellent tool to begin discussions with students regarding their aptitude for and interest in particular areas, and it will form the basis of the career and pathway discussions I will be having with Year 10 students and their parents in the early part of 2024. Students have lifetime access to this resource, so can retake the various tests and research various career options whenever they would like to.
Students who were absent on Monday have been emailed with log in details and are expected to complete the Morrisby at some point prior to the commencement of school next year. All students who have completed the profiling have had their results unlocked, and you are encouraged to read through the in-depth report with your child. More information on what is included and how to interpret the results can be found here and here.
Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday break and I look forward to continuing to support our students in 2024. For additional resources, please keep up to date with information on the Careers and Pathways page on HT Connect, and particularly the weekly careers newsletter, which is uploaded each Friday during term time.
