Thank you 2023 Sport Leaders
A big thank you to our St Simon Sport leaders for 2023, Aarya Shundravel, Noah Kavanagh, Gabriella Saggin and Luke Spierings. They have dedicated themselves to promoting and encouraging all aspects of sport within our school which has resulted in a positive outlook on sport amongst our students and school community. We hope their leadership skills gained from this year’s roles continue into their community and representative sporting teams and high school sporting experiences.
SSV State Softball - tied 5th place!
CONGRATULATIONS to our Fully Loaded Softball Boys teams who made it all the way to the SSV State Softball Championships! Our softball boys teams competed against the best softball school teams within the entire state on Monday 27th November.
In the boy’s first pool game, there were some big hits from Jacob Tayler and Ashton D’Amelio which converted into scored runs for our school team. Although the opposing side who were reigning state champions from last year had great fielding in the second innings which led to a loss for our boys, 13 runs to 20 runs.
Our second pool game was more promising with active fielding from our boys, including a few double outs. This led to a third inning victory of 22 runs to 20 in favour of St Simons.
In their last pool game, the fielding from our boys squeezed the batting side in the first inning but lost in the end 11 to 20 runs.
Overall, the boys came tied 5th overall based on the pool standing at the end of the round robin, making St Simon’s the 5th best school softball team within the state. Results can be viewed on the SSV State website below:
