3/4 B

Week 11 Term 4

Wow! What a year it has been.

We've experienced so many highlights including the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist, our camp to Don Bosco, excursions to TwistEd Science and Frankston Arts Centre and various incursions and special visitors.

Congratulations to Mackenzie M who won this year's Dunkley Shield and to Aaron T who won this year's Living in Faith Award. Harry H also took home the inaugral Principal's Award. Three award winners from 3/4B! We also had a number of students be recognised for their consistent attendance at Running Club. Gianni R ran the most laps for 3/4B this year, 64 laps is a super effort! Congratulations!

Thank you also to Holly O and Aaron T were this year's 3/4B SRCs. A job well done! Also, a big thank you to William M and Kaley B for their amazing contribution to the 2024 SFX School Calendar. In the library Kaley B and Thomas B helped keep everything in order in their roles as school librarians.

Many of our students including Lincoln B, Piper B, Austin K and Harry H were involved in a variety of extra curricular groups such as gardening, cooking and Minecraft. So much learning, so much fun!

We were so lucky to welcome four new students to our class this year. Azariya T, Micha M, Egidio L and Summer N all came to continue their learning journey at SFX. Unfortunately we said an early goodbye to our friend Liam L who next year will continue his journey at Haileybury. Ziggy S and James C will also be moving on to different schools next year. We wish them all the very best!

I'd also like to wish all of the Year 4s moving into year 5 well. Best of luck as you venture into the senior school.

Maths

In the last two weeks of Maths  we investigated different measurement concepts including mass and capacity. It's the perfect time of the year to get the water out, learn and have some fun!

Inquiry

To finish our term 4 Inquiry unit the students have been working on their Our Island Home project. The students were required to create their very own island and place it somewhere around the world. They needed to research and find out the weather and rainfall for their island and identify the climate zone i.e tropics. Each group was then required to choose three values the people on the island would live by, create a flag and coat of arms and even write their own national anthem. All groups needed to create a map with a legend to show what their island would look like. It has been great to see so many interesting and creative ideas for different parts of this project.

Thank you!

As we bid farewell to another remarkable year, let's celebrate the resilience, growth, and camaraderie that defined our journey together.  Embrace the lessons learned, cherish the memories created, and step into the future with confidence. Here's to a bright and promising new year filled with endless possibilities. Wishing you all a joyous holiday season and a fantastic start to the next chapter.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
