Dear St Francis Xavier Families,
As the year's end approaches it always gives me an opportunity to reflect upon the previous 12 months and to feel gratitude for being part of such a wonderful community.
May I especially thank those of you who have approached and spoken with, written to or emailed our staff throughout the year to show your appreciation in any way - your kindness in acknowledging what we do means a great deal to us.
Thank you for the contributions made to the Prep Kindness Project. Our SFX Christmas tree was surrounded by bags full of items to pass on to the St Vincent de Paul organisation for distribution throughout the local community. In these current times when groceries are expensive I was touched by the number of donations provided by our staff and families.
We completed our Advent Prayer Services on Wednesday. Several classes took the lead by doing readings, singing and presenting. If you were able to attend I hope you enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with us, praying, reflecting and enjoying the peace these services provide. I would especially like to acknowledge the Preps and Year 1/2s who led us in two beautiful faith songs during our Hope and Joy celebrations.
Our final whole school mass will be this Friday afternoon at 2pm in SFX Church. We hope you can join us as we give thanks for 2023.
God's blessings and best wishes for Christmas and throughout 2024,
Marion O'Brien
