RYDA

ROAD SAFETY EDUCATION PROGRAM

On Thursday 16th November all year 10 and 11 students were given the opportunity to participate in a road safety education experience called RYDA. This was a memorable one-day workshop which front-loads students’ understanding of road safety. Various workshops were held led by a team of trained facilitators including driving instructors, community sector specialists and emergency services.

The outcome of the day was for all involved to become active, responsible road citizens. RYDA provides students with the tools, habits and motivation to take action and stay safe on our roads as both drivers and passengers throughout their lives.

The day was very informative with a lot of statistics, but also provided some engaging workshops with driving demonstrations and a guest speaker whom the students had to investigate.

The day was run in a very professional way at a pinnacle time in the lives of our students and will potentially help them to develop some better judgments in terms of driving and being a passenger.
