SCHOOL LEADERSHIP MESSAGE

 PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Well done to all our students on their efforts over the last couple of weeks during our Semester Two exam period. As students work towards the senior years of schooling, and while exams remain an important part of senior year assessments, it’s important that we begin to develop exam skills with all students. As students start to have their results returned, it will be important for them to reflect not only on how well they have understood the content of each subject, but also on how well they managed the exam setting, and what they might be able to do to improve next time. Did you study in the right way leading up to the exam? Did you have all necessary resources with you on the day? Were any reference books that you were allowed to take in to the exam well set out and easy to use?

I had a wonderful night at our Year 12 Valedictory dinner last night. It was a fantastic way to celebrate our amazing students who finished Year 12 with us earlier this term. Once again, our two school captains spoke amazingly well. Congratulations to all students, and we look forward to seeing you continue to do amazing things in the future.

On Monday next week we start our Headstart program. This is the opportunity for students to move into next year’s classes and begin work in their new year levels. All teachers have planned rigorous units of work that form part of the annual curriculum for our Headstart period. It’s important that all students attend until their last day of classes for 2024.

I have one more week of work left before I take some Long Service Leave starting on the 27th November through until the end of the year. Bekk Anthony will be Acting Principal in my place. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all staff, students and community members for a wonderful 2023, and wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas holiday period.
