KOALA ON KSC GROUNDS
SPECIAL VISITOR ON KSC GROUNDS
On Tuesday afternoon we were very lucky to have a koala (scientific name Phascolarctos cinereus) onsite at KSC.
We were visited by a wild, small male who moved between the introduced trees at the front of the school grounds. Koalas are solitary animals, and while big males can have a quite a large territory, females visit a smaller number of trees. This time of year is the koala’s breeding season, so we are more likely to find them roaming looking for a mate.
To protect our precious wildlife, watch out for koalas on the ground when driving at nighttime, and keep dogs on a leash when in bushed areas.
