Christmas Carols at Spectrum

The Foundation and Year 1/2 classes have been busy practising to sing to the elderly people at Spectrum. We could not wait to sing all our favourite songs from the Carols Evening again and meet some new friends in our local area!

Year 1/2

Sphero Balls and Maths

Maths was so cool this week! We used Sphero Balls to practise directing and following directions. We had to use words like 'left' and 'right', 'forwards' and 'backwards'. It was so fun moving the ball around the grid using the iPads. It was a little difficult because the ball moved quickly but we persevered. We could also change the colour! It was great! Year 1/2

Year 3/4

Advent

Advent is the countdown to Jesus’ birth, we prepare for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas is also preparing for the second coming of Christ. It is a four week season of celebrating and remembering the arrival of Jesus on earth, a time to reflect on the  nature of Jesus.

The candles represent hope, peace, love and faith.

By Azariah and Aleisha

Advent is a special time to remember our Saviour Jesus Christ and to gather with our family to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Advent means ‘coming' and it's the period of time before Christmas which celebrates the birth of Jesus. It is all about preparing for Christmas Day and the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Advent starts on the Sunday nearest to 30 November - fourth Sunday leading up to Christmas Day.

In the Catholic Church, the Advent season reminds us about the importance of Christ in our lives, prepares us to celebrate Christ's birth at Christmas, and refers to his second coming at a future time.
