LS2 Senior News

The LS2 Senior students this term have been exploring the concept of 'Changes' through the thought-provoking question, "How does understanding change help me to make sense of my world? "

As part of this learning, students have been exploring the changes we all need to make in our lives to live a healthy, well-connected and meaningful life.

We have explored the ‘Australian Healthy Eating Guide’ with a focus on creating the perfect lunchbox for school. We have looked at how advertising can influence our choices and how to detect unreliable sources of information around our wellbeing.

Students are now creating their own advertisement as a way of exploring this topic. They need to be honest AND convincing that their product is good for the buyer.

As a way of sharing all the amazing work they have done this term, we will be having a sharing session with the junior students in our space in Week 10. This helps our senior students to consolidate their learning and also shows the juniors the kind of work that senior students are capable of.

This has been an enlightening topic, with a few surprises and lots of new knowledge gained.

SPORTS NEWS

SWIMMING

Swimming is now finished and your child should have come home with their certificate. I would like to once again thank all our staff for their organisation and commitment that assisted the swimming lessons to run smoothly. I would also like to thank the instructors at Casey Race. They were extremely organised and everything ran like clockwork.

A big thanks to our Junior parents who were able to come and assist in the change rooms after the swimming lessons. And finally a big thanks to all the parents for ensuring your child was prepared for swimming each week, even with our unusual timetable this year. We hope that the students enjoyed their lessons, but more importantly learnt water safety skills to keep themselves safe in the water this summer.

GRADE 5 BIKE EDUCATION

Grade 5 Bike Education will continue next Friday December 1st. Grade 5 students will need to bring their bicycles and helmets to school and leave them in front of their Learning Space. Student bikes can remain in the Bike Shed for the duration of the Program which is until Week 10, Friday 8th December.
