House Leader Reports
Rothwellš¦
HEY YOU!
Ā
Itās kinda insane to think weāre already at the end of the year š±. As the next generation of Rothwell leaders who have just begun to undertake our new roles, we canāt help but reflect on the monumental achievements, bittersweet farewells and innumerable memories made this past year which couldnāt have been possible without the immense efforts of the 2023 leadership team. Rothwell, or as itās often dubbed, the āfamily houseā, is characterised by its unshakable bonds between students which serves as the foundation for our distinct and unparalleled house spirit that the leadership team in 2024 hopes to further cultivate. With new year'sĀ just around the corner, we have a clear goal,Ā BRING THE CUP HOMEĀ šš¦ šš¦ Ā
Ā
But first, some introductions are dueš. Your (amazing) 2024 Rothwell leadership team is:
Ā
Anjali Bijukumar and Malakai Harianto -Ā House Captains š Ā
Rhianna Laguesma and Aryan SinghĀ - Vice Captains š„
Mandy Diep -Ā Chorals Captainš¶Ā
Fredy Collard -Ā Sports Captain ā½
Niharika Chopra -Ā Arts CaptainšØ
Akshya Ajbani -Ā Initiatives Captaināļø
Manasvi Vasamsetti -Ā Wellbeing CaptaināØ
Zayan Haq, Jayesh Mohan, and Avani Malali -Ā SRCāsš¤
Ā
Although the 2024 Rothwell leaders may differ in our domains of expertise, our common ardour for facilitating Rothwellās success, desire to be effective and reliable leaders and most of all determination to better the house unites us as a team.Ā
Ā
In the past few weeks our team has focused on prioritising and encouraging student involvement in the house program through the initiatives that reward participation such as our āGolden Hand Awardā, named in honour of Mr Hand.Ā While establishing this award, we had the goal to acknowledge the most committed Rothwellians that have displayed consistent dedication to the house throughout the year, so on that note, a huge congratulations toĀ Zaeena Dimog (R7)š„for being our first āGolden Hand Awardā recipient!Ā Additionally we recently implemented the very successfulĀ homegroup arts that centred around decorating the house area as well as creating banners for upcoming events to garner interest in the house program. We were absolutely delighted by the sheer enthusiasm displayed by students and we know weāll sustain this positive mindset throughout 2024!!!
Ā
As well as this, our team (alongside the other houses?!) are planning someĀ huge things for next year, and donāt worry, all will be revealed in due time š If you have any questions, ideas, or wanna just talk, just contact any one of us! Youād find us around the school (obviously), find our socials, or you could email us. Above all else, we strive to be approachable and reliable leaders that you can depend on to address any concerns and ensure that you feel heard as a medium for student voice.
Ā
Also, this update would be incomplete without mentioning our goodbyes toĀ Mr. HandĀ (the founder of Rothwell!)Ā as well as Ms. Sordello and Mr. HibbertĀ for next year. We owe so much to them and their influence over how the family house has turned out. Their energy will really be missed and their contributions to Rothwell will never be forgotten šš. Remember, when weāre swimming, athleticing or choraling, theyāll all be there in spirit. Do it for them.Ā
Ā
The other houses may put up a fight, and we know weāll push for that win when the time comes around. Weāre the most consistently solid house, and weĀ KNOW next year weāve got a clear shot at firstš. In that vein, the house comp is hitting the ground running with swimming being so early, so make sure you take a well deserved rest over the holidaysš“!Ā
Ā
Weāre beyond excited for everything that we have in store for next year, weāll see you in 2024!
Malakai Harianto (R7) and Anjali Bijukumar(R2)

So far, we've already started strongly with redesigning our house logo for next year - although our current dragon is beloved by us all, weāre certain that we can all agree that it's time for something new!! As a team we hope to finalise our logo in time for everyone to choose the new logo by around next year so stay tuned for more updates! Both of us have been planning carefully with the leadership team to create fun initiatives for you all to partake in! And while we didnāt win the House Cup last year, we still improved tremendously as a house, and we hope to continue to move forward with the hard work the 2023 leadership team put in!
But first, letās celebrate some of our success over the past few weeks! Shubhi, Meet, and Minn defeated Rothwell in theĀ intermediate debate, with the help of our two lovely researchers, Nicole and Tora! Thirdly, the Blackwood Leadership Team is excited to announce the start of ourĀ homegroup competitions!Ā There will be weekly competitions on Wednesday to help determine the best homegroup! The winner will be announced at the end of term 2! May the best home group win.
There are a wide range of exciting plans in the works, and to help stay tuned, follow the Blackwood Instagram! If you donāt have Instagram, check out theĀ digital scroll! If you have any questions, feel free to talk to anyone in our leadership team!

COTTRELLĀ
HEY GUYS!
2023 has gone by so fast! To think that it is already over! All the memories made seem to have flown by so fast, from the athletics carnival at the very start of the year, to the choralās competition, to the presentation evening. Everything seems to have finished before it started.
First we would like to celebrate that WE WON THE HOUSE CUP!!!! ššĀ weāre so proud of each and every one of you as we couldnāt have done it without you.To see the house cup adorned in green ribbons is nothing short of a dream come true. This was such a comeback from previous years and I know weāre going to soar to greater heights next year as well.
And of course we canāt forget to celebrate some of the many other victories that we have had throughout the year. As Cottrellians, we are proud to say that our house spirit is quite unrivalled, and our first major victory came along in the form of our Chorals win! Then we had the House Drama performance, with our house coming first in the scripted performance, and second in the devised performance. As of the start of transition, we are proud to say that our intermediate debating team managed to come second! Below we have photos of our favourite memories from this year from all of the victories.Ā
In hand with all the celebrations, we would love to thank Carin and Nathan for their absolutely spectacular leadership as our 2023 House Captains! Their amazing performance and initiative lead us to our victory. And we also know that this would not have been possible without the amazing support of Ms Klein and Ms Guastella as well as now Ms Tizzani. We appreciate all of the support that you have provided and continue to provide and look forward to working with you next year too!
This year has been absolutely fabulous! We have loved the energy everyone has brought as a team, and really appreciate the efforts that everyone has put in! We love to see all of our efforts paid off with the house cup being decorated with green! Seeing this fantastic performance gives us great hope that 2024 will be an equally, if not more amazing and successful year! We would now like to introduce our new and wonderful leadership team:
