SCC General Notices

Bibles for Kinders

Grade 8 Christian Studies have been working on a children's Bible for their Kinder buddies which explains the overarching story of the Bible in 8 key stages. The stage we have explored are; God's Creation, The Fall, God's Promises, God's Rescue, God's Hero, God's Power, Jesus and God's New Creation. In each stage students have seen how the whole Bible points to Jesus and the way that he fulfills all of God's promises by dying on the cross, rising again, ascending back to heaven and the promise to come again one day to make everything new.

Well done Year 8 for your hard work and amazing Kinder Bibles!

School Fees 2023

A reminder that 2023 fees are due on the 30th November.

Absences/Early collection

The preferred method of notification of absences and early collection of students is via the attendance email -attendance@scc.tas.edu.au - rather than by phone, to alleviate pressure on the College office at the start of the day and at this busy time. Thank you for your assistance in this way.

Reports

Your child's report will be generated through our Managebac online curriculum management system. You will receive an email indicating that the report is available and ready to read online. If you have lost your Managebac login, please contact our Help Desk via email on helpdesk@scc.tas.edu.au

Online Reports

We will be providing the reports electronically but we can print them upon request. If you would like your child's report printed for collection, please email the office on admin@scc.tas.edu.au to request a copy. Please note that all kindergarten reports will be printed.

No Parent Teacher Evening

There will not be a Parent Teacher Evening this term. If you would like to talk to your child's teacher, please contact them directly via Managebac.

We need to have these accounted for and serviced over the holidays.

KEEP THE BOOKS ROLLING IN!!!

ALL Library books need to be returned this week! Please look under beds and on book shelves.

Thanks again to faithful students and parents who remember weekly to return books.

Thank you!

Last Friday, two of our Grade 6 student leaders, Charlotte and Zach, together with Mrs Bennett, attended the Kingborough Helping Hands opening of the sharing tree at Channel Court Shopping Centre.

It was wonderful to see so many families generously donate to support those less fortunate than us. We were privileged to speak with both Edna and Maxine from Kingborough Helping Hands, and they were able to share the history of the Kingston sharing tree, and how this initiative was established years ago by local students within the community.

This term our focus has been on generosity, and how wonderful to be able to bless others at a time when giving is so important.

Thank you to all of our families who continue to donate to our Bags of Hope initiative and support The Salvation Army.

Bags of Hope (Repeat)

The Joy of Christmas doesn't extend to all families across Tasmania.

Our Year 12 and 10 student leaders are supporting a Salvation Army initiative. The Salvation Army is asking schools and members of the community to help fill a Bag of Hope this Christmas.

The Salvos are anticipating that there will be an increased need for support this Christmas as more people turn to them for help due to the rising cost of living.
