Auslan News

I extend my sincere gratitude to the performing arts and year 3/4 class teachers for facilitating the remarkable success of our students at the recent concert. Special appreciation goes to their efforts in imparting prayer songs to the students, a practice that I was not directly involved in. It came to my attention only recently that students had been actively engaging in these prayers throughout the year. This serves as a testament to the wonderful and inclusive nature of our school community, highlighting the collaborative efforts that contribute to our students’ holistic development.

Year 3/4 students have diligently rehearsed two Christmas songs, namely “Silent Night” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” during their Auslan lessons for the upcoming Christmas carols and performances for the elderly in the community. Kindly note that students will be required to bring their Christmas hats either this week or the following week for filming purposes. If you happen to have additional hats that can be borrowed by other students, your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. It is important to label their hats with their names, ensuring a smooth and organised return process after the filming session.

Exciting news! Our Auslan classroom now boasts two adorable new signing puppets, Elmo and Cookie Monster to enhance the students’ learning experiences as they engage with these characters during their signing activities.
