JUNIOR SCHOOL COUNCIL

Semester 2 Report

The JSCs have continued their hard work throughout semester 2. They have taken great pride in being part of fundraisers, surveys, leadership programs and assemblies.

The term 4 fundraiser raised a combined total of $3074.76 from our sausage sizzle and gold coin donations for wearing our favourite colours.

The term 3 Footy Day fundraiser was the most popular, raising a total of $2,251. The students LOVED the idea of being able to attend school in their footy gear.

Miss Loorham’s leadership program continued into semester 2, with our JSCs excited by the opportunity to get to know each other. They learnt about many leadership skills and had a lot of fun.

Showing their responsible side, the JSCs were proud to work with the office staff in selling Remembrance Day badges in honour of our fallen soldiers.  They were also in fine form when interviewing parents after school hours in relation to their opinion on the school. They were really impressed by the mostly positive comments and the idea that we get to improve the school from these comments.

In further roles of responsibility, the JSCs have been working hard on their presentation skills with their assemblies and are looking forward to the final hurrah of the end of year assembly and year 6 presentation. The year 6 JSC’s are privileged to be able to host the event. Recognising that it is a grand honour to be a part of the final celebration for year 6 students at Plenty Parklands.

Looking towards the future, the JSCs have been investigating the possibility of installing a PET recycling bin in the school as part of the new buy back scheme, with the hope that we can recycle the popular Chill J bottles here at PPPS.
