Grade 1 & 2

Term 1, Week 8

What a wonderful Term 1 we have had in Year 1/2! We are well and truly settled in our classrooms and routines. We have excelled in our Literacy, Numeracy and Integrated learning. To support our Integrated unit this term we attended an excursion to the National Gallery of Victoria where children were able to explore various art exhibitions and attend an art lesson at the NGV school studio. Here student’s were able to express a story about themselves through white crayon and blue ink on cardboard vases. We saw students challenge themselves at Whole School Cross Country with some outstanding effort put into training and some students attending running club. Students had fun on our Free Dress day and we’re grateful for the chocolate donations you made to the schools Easter Hampers.

To celebrate all the learning we have done through our Integrated unit “How do i express myself through art?”, we will be holding a Year 1/2 Art Gallery Exhibition at school this Friday afternoon! Parents and caregivers are welcome to attend our Year 1/2 Art Gallery from 2pm onwards on Friday the 22nd of March.

We’re looking forward to finishing off the term by celebrating Holi Festival with you this Thursday the 21st of March and Chinese Day next Wednesday the 27th of March. Please remember students can dress up for Chinese day or wear red.
