Child Safe & Wellbeing

Child Safe at St Thomas the Apostle

We are delighted to welcome new families to our community, where the well-being and safety of each child is a priority.  At St Thomas the Apostle, we understand the profound responsibility entrusted to us in shaping the future of your children. In alignment with this commitment, we place a strong emphasis on adhering to the Child Safe Standards—a set of principles and practices aimed at ensuring the utmost safety, security, and welfare of every child in our care.

Our dedication to these standards is not merely a requirement; it is a fundamental aspect of our philosophy and approach to education. We believe that every child has the right to learn and grow in an environment that is free from harm, where their dignity is respected, and their individuality is celebrated. To achieve this, we have implemented comprehensive policies, procedures, and training programs for our staff to create a nurturing and protective atmosphere for all children.

Throughout your child's journey with us, we invite you to engage with our commitment to the Child Safe Standards. We encourage open communication and value your feedback as we work together to create a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for your child's development.

Thank you for entrusting us with the privilege of participating in your child's educational journey. We look forward to fostering a collaborative partnership with you in ensuring the well-being and happiness of each child under our care.

Child Safe Champions

At St Thomas the Apostle, the child safe champions are: Jen Gulavin - jgulavin@cranbourneeast.catholic.edu.au and Peta Overbury - poverbury@cranbourneeast.catholic.edu.au.  As child safe champions, we work with the school leadership team, teachers, students, volunteers and the school community to create a child safe environment for our students.
