Welcome to our freshly revamped school newsletter The Spear, an opportunity to have a window into the the exciting education offered at St Thomas The Apostle. 2024 is a year of renewal and review for the school. During this year our 4 year strategic improvement plan concludes. We will spend time gathering evidence to assess our growth before developing a new 4 year plan in line with the Diocesan Improvement Plan.

Our students are enhancing their routines which support learning. You will find out more about the specific routines in the Child Safe & Wellbeing page. The routines prepare children for their learning and increase confidence in the classroom. Our goal is a low variance, knowledge rich curriculum for all students. This will give all students the greatest opportunity for growth and success.

Teaching staff will be doing action research projects to identify the best evidence informed approaches to teaching specific content. This will build teacher capacity and improve our students outcomes. Over the next few newsletters you will learn more about the Teaching and Learning foci for 2024 and beyond.
