Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and families,

The second week of Lent is upon us. Mary Coloe PBVM writes in her cometary on the reading this week "At the heart of  readings this week is the extraordinary claim made by Christians that God is present in Jesus. A mystery is not something to by analysed, rather it is something to live into, to open ourselves to, to meditate upon in prayer. Both the Jews and the Greeks were so sure of how God would act and where God could be found that they missed seeing the presence of God in their midst in Jesus. During Lent may we be more attentive to the surprising ways that God could be present to us."  I pray that we are open to Jesus in our lives and find the small miracles each day.

After a beautiful celebration on Saturday we welcome Mrs Ward back to school. Congratulations on your beautiful wedding Hannah and Nick. We wish you every happiness for your life together.

In other staff news, our newest Learning Support officer, Madie Stevens will be married this weekend and we wish Madie and Aydon a beautiful day with family and friends.  Madie will be know to the children as Mrs Dixon.

Our first OPEN MORNING for prospective 2025 Foundation enrolments was attended very well. These tours are aimed at new parents wanting to join our school community for the 2025 year. Please let anyone you know who may be considering our school for their child/ren to ring the office for further details. We have already had strong expression of interest for our upcoming tours. It is great to know that so many local families want to join our community.

PLAY  leaders training for the 5/6 group was very successful. Thank you to Mrs de Veer and Mr Bright who worked with the children on this day. Mr Bright and the children will now plan a program for the younger children during play times.

We continue to have Bike Ed this week which has been very successful. Thank you to the staff for engaging in this program.

Tomorrow is the House Cross Country and we are all looking forward to a fun event. Thank you to Mrs Winduss who is coordinating tomorrow while Mrs Ary is away.

A reminder to all families that sometimes children have differences  in the playground. When this occurs the school follows our policies regarding behaviour management.  Please make yourself aware of the Parent code of conduct so that we have clarity of the expectations of families when dealing with difficult situations.  The code of conduct can be found on the school website and has been sent out on seesaw recently.

Other dates to be aware of in the next month or so are:-

House Cross Country Friday 1st March

School Advisory Committee and AGM- Wednesday 6th March 6.30pm

Yr 5-6 Camp to Portsea Wednesday 13th March-Friday 15th March

Rod sends his best wishes to the community.

God bless
