Principal's Views

From Mandy O'Mara

Dear Parents, Carers, staff and students,

Meet and Greet Postponement:

Last week, we were disappointed to have to postpone our Meet and Greet event. However, we are pleased to announce that we have rescheduled it to coincide with our end-of-term Celebration of Learning. We believe this will be a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the achievements of our students.

Transition to Online Meet and Greets:

I would like to congratulate our dedicated staff for seamlessly transitioning from face-to-face to online Meet and Greets. Their adaptability and commitment to maintaining connections with our families is truly commendable. For those who missed the online sessions, recordings are available on Compass for your convenience.

Year 5/6 Camp Highlights:

This week, 130 of our Year 5/6 students embarked on an unforgettable adventure at the Old Priory Campsite in Beechworth. Amidst the picturesque surroundings, they had the opportunity to delve deeper into the history of the gold rush and immigration. It is wonderful that they could enrich their learning experiences in such a hands-on way.

School Council Nominations:

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce the parent members of the 2024 School Council:

  • Bec Lewis
  • Debbie Galati
  • Dean Bannan
  • Paula Soluncevski
  • Wayne Mark
  • Rouba Urrutia

I extend my gratitude to the retiring members, Sarah Beilby, Kat Tassone, and Jason Way, for their invaluable contributions to our school community.

As we embrace the spirit of diversity and inclusivity at Epping Views Primary School, we're excited to announce the upcoming celebrations for Ramadan.

Ramadan Celebrations: Ramadan, a significant month in the Islamic calendar, is fast approaching. It's a time of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community for our Muslim students and families. We encourage all members of our community to learn more about Ramadan and join us in respecting and supporting those observing this sacred time.

This week we celebrated staff wellbeing week at EVPS. I hope you enjoy some of the photos shared in this newsletter.

Warm regards,

Mandy O'Mara
