The children's favourite activities at Kelly Club this fortnight included making marble runs, baking brownies, as well as playing soccer and basketball games.
Finn, Audrey and Milla all had a go at making their own marble runs. All of the children chose to make their marble runs by starting off with a large square piece of cardboard. They then cut slots into the piece of cardboard, before placing smaller strips of cardboard into the slots. The marble then rolled along the smaller strips. Finn made a hole at the end of his marble run for the marble to go through, while Audrey decided her marble would roll into a small box at the end of her run. Once Milla finished making her's, she decorated it with things she had made out of pipe cleaners.
The children all worked together to cook brownies. Each of the children had a go at either preparing, measuring, adding or mixing the ingredients. They couldn't wait for the brownies to finish cooking in the oven. Once they were done they did not last long, as the children quickly finished them off.
Last Friday we enjoyed playing some soccer and basketball games. In the first game each of the children had a cone and a soccer ball. The aim of the game was to try and knock over other people's cones with the soccer balls, while also protecting their own cone. Felix was very good at defence and it was a challenge for the children to knock over his cone. Hector was a more attacking player and enjoyed running around kicking other people's cones over.
In the next game the children practiced their basketball shooting. The games involved the children selecting one of the many cones scattered around the basketball rings to take a shot from. If they successfully shot the ball into the hoop, they took the cone with them. If they missed, they passed the ball to the next person in their team. For each cone they collected, their team would receive a point. Milla and Logan represented the Kirwans well and shot very well, every scoring from some of the cones that were further away from the ring.
Ceres Primary School’s Kelly Club program has been running since 2021.
Ceres Primary has a strong local community which we love being involved in. We have a dedicated space within the school, which means we’ve been able to really make it our own. We have a fantastic range of activities that are tailored to the children’s ages and skill levels, and we provide a range of nutritious, tasty snacks in the afternoon.
Our goal at Kelly Club is to make your kids feel right at home in a safe, nurturing environment where they can have heaps of fun. Our dedicated and passionate staff are fully trained in all aspects of looking after your children, and know how to bring out the best in them. We’ll give you the peace of mind that they are getting the very best of care at either end of their busy day. Our flexible booking system makes it easy to organise sessions, and because we charge in arrears, you’ll only pay for the childcare you use. Plus, if you’re eligible for a CCS subsidy, you can get up to 100% of your fees covered by Services Australia, depending on your circumstances.
Come on and take a look at our program today—we’d love to show you around. If you’re ready to start booking sessions for your children, click the button below.
