Hello, my name is Mr Simon Tran. I am a Grade 1 classroom teacher this year and joined St Peter’s School last year. Before St Peter’s, I worked in various schools in the Government and Catholic sector. I’m excited to continue to be part of this vibrant school community and look forward to continuing to get to know you. Outside of school, I currently live with my family of six. I enjoy going to the beach, finding the best food in the area, decorating my classroom, and spending time with family and friends. I enjoy eating different food and drinks such as dumplings, dim sim, sushi, rice, noodles, and bubble tea.
I look forward to working with our warm community this year, especially Grade 1!

Hey there! I'm Miss Kahleen Low, your Foundation teacher, thrilled to be embarking on this exciting journey with the delightful Foundation class of 2024. Some of you might recognise me from my time here as a Grade 3/4 teacher. I've also pitched in as a CRT around the school in the past. With a background in Early Childhood and Individual Needs Education, I'm passionate about early years education and creating a positive learning environment for all.
Beyond the classroom, you might catch me sipping on bubble tea or enjoying a delicious meal out. I love to eat Dosa in Clayton! Weekends are my time to shine in the kitchen, whipping up feasts, especially with my current culinary crush on Middle Eastern cuisine. Can't wait to share this wonderful school year together!

Hello there, I'm Mrs Sarah Russell, and I've been a part of the beautiful St Peter’s community since 2020. You may not know that before I became a teacher, I worked in primary educational publishing as a publisher for 20 years. I worked on junior maths and literacy series and even wrote a book or two myself! In my free time, I love reading, doing pottery, and exploring lots of Australia. I have a beautiful family with my children, Millie and Harry, and my husband, Alan, along with our two little dogs, Andy and Chelsea. We love Christmas so much that we have seven Christmas trees up in our house! I’m loving teaching Year 2 this year with Mrs DeVisser and getting to know a new group of wonderful St Peter’s students. After my health challenges last year, how lucky am I to be back here at my favourite school with my new favourite students!

Hello, I’m Mrs Trish.
I work in Grade 1 with Mr Tran and Grade 2 with Mrs Russell and Mrs Devisser. I’m a Learning Support Officer and I also work in the Library. I have been at St Peter’s for nearly 25 years. I enjoy working with all the children and meeting with our families. Things I love most are my family, especially my grandchildren and my great-grandchildren. Hello! I am Mrs Clare Sabatino, Literacy Support Teacher at St Peter's School. Something you might not know about me is that I absolutely love singing and dancing. My favourite food is a delightful combination of chicken curry and special pilaf rice. At home, I live with my wonderful husband, John. One of my all-time favourite songs is "Count on Me" by Bruno Mars. In addition to my passion for music and dance, I love working with all the students in the junior school at St Peter's and look forward to a wonderful year of learning together. It brings me great joy to contribute to their educational journey and foster a positive and enriching learning environment.

I am sure most of you will know me as Mrs DeVisser, for those new families to our school I am thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce myself to the St Peter’s Community. I have had a varied experience of working in the Independent, Government and Catholic Schools, with around twenty-five years of experience in education and a deep-rooted commitment to Catholic values. I am passionate about creating a nurturing and faith-filled learning environment where every student feels safe, valued and encouraged to do their best.
Growing up in a Catholic household, I was instilled with the values of compassion, service, and integrity from a young age. These values have guided me throughout my career as an educator, inspiring me to integrate faith into every aspect of my teaching and to instil in my students a love for God and neighbour. I love swimming at the beach and going for long walks with my husband, daughter and dog Jett. Besides, I enjoy gardening and finding a quiet spot to read.
As a dedicated teacher, I strive to create engaging and meaningful learning experiences that challenge students intellectually, foster a sense of curiosity and wonder, and nurture their spiritual growth. With a background in Masters in Clinical Teaching / Literacy / TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) (Melbourne University) and very recently successfully completed an IMSL (Institute of Multisensory Structured Language Learning Education) which entitles me to being an AMADA (Associate Membership with the Australian Dyslexia Association). I am excited to bring my unique skills and perspectives to the St Peter’s community.
I am deeply inspired by the mission and values of our school, and I am eager to contribute to its rich tradition of academic excellence and faith formation. I look forward to working collaboratively with students, parents/carers, and colleagues to create a vibrant and supportive community where all members are valued and cherished. iris.devisser@spclayton.catholic.edu.au
