Student and Staff Wellbeing

Canine Comprehension

Canine Comprehension is back in full swing across all sub-schools this year.

The Wellbeing Team have been supporting our dog and handler pairs when working with our students.

Primary Sub School

Our prep students had their first session with George and Judy last week.  They were able to take turns to spend some time with George.

The rest of our primary sub school eagerly anticipate George and Judy's arrival each week. George has been enjoying showing the students some tricks that he can do, in return getting lots of cuddles, pats and treats.

Middle and Secondary Sub Schools

Students that have been selected to participate in the 8 week program with Victor and his human Mini have been learning lots about emotions. Students have engaged in activities including image sorts and emotional charades as well as focusing on their own confidence, tone of voice and body language to keep Victor engaged to do tricks and follow commands with lots of pats, cuddles and treats.

Each session is ended with some calming breathing exercises where students have the opportunity to practise their self-regulation and calming strategies.
