Around the College

A colourful, fun, competitive and successful day was had by all at the annual Swimming Carnival on Monday. Please enjoy these fantastic photos taken by our talented, Chelsea Nicholson.

Community welcome BBQ & PAM & TRP information session evening

Our relaxed welcome night earlier this week saw a great turnout of families. Families enjoyed a delicious BBQ while they wandered around visiting the information stalls and chatted to the many staff in attendance.

Pancake Day

Pancake Day, or Shrove Tuesday, is the traditional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. Lent – the 40 days leading up to Easter – was traditionally a time of fasting and Shrove Tuesday was an opportunity to ‘purge’ all of the pantry items in preparation for the fasting period.

To celebrate this year, the VCE VM Yr 12 students ran a fundraiser for Caritas Australia's 'Project Compassion'. Caritas Australia has been working with vulnerable communities around the world to forge a path out of poverty for over 55 years.

Pancake Day coupled with our college photo day, made sure the day was full of 𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓 𝐁𝐈𝐆 𝐒𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐄𝐒!

Apology Breakfast

Acknowledging a significant day in our nation's history, the 2024 Shepparton Apology Breakfast held in the Queen's Gardens marking the 16th anniversary of the historic day Kevin Rudd delivered the National Apology, formally saying sorry to Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander people for past Australian government policies of forced child removal and assimilation.

Guest Speaker Deirdre Robertson, from The Shepparton Region Reconciliation Group addressed the community on the importance of truth telling in the process of healing and reconciliation in an emotional speech moving many to tears. With live music, guest speakers and local ASHE students conducting the smoking ceremony, the breakfast was attended by St Anne's college students, student leaders and staff including Tina Thompson (Koori Education Worker).

Our wonderful wellbeing doggo, Macie has been spotted around school. She too was very excited a new school year has begun!
