Lab Report

Jessica Deans

It was the Year 1 students turn to work on their Portfolios this week. Each class had a picture story book to read, before thinking about the ways they could help the environment and the animals on our planet. This was especially important as it was World Wildlife Day last Sunday. We had a lot of amazing ideas, and would recommend the books we read, which are available through Eastern Regional Libraries. They are all focussed on endangered Australian animals.

The Year 5 and 6 students were invited to start thinking about possible topics they could work on for the theme Species Survival: more than just sustainability. I will be asking students who are interested to let me know Week 9 of this term so that I can get an idea of numbers. Students will be able to work individually or in groups of 2-3.

The Year 5 students are spending this week and next learning all about different types of fungi: yeast, mold and mushrooms. A reminder to parents, we will be making focaccias next week.

This week’s movie recommendation is Fantastic Fungi, and it can be watched on Netflix.
