Welcome Jennifer Ly! 

You will find Jennifer in the main office each day.

Tell us about your family 

My parents are both refugees from Cambodia who came to Australia in the 70s with my big brother. Once they were in Australia, they had my other older brother and then they had me in 1995. Now, I live with my partner and our dog, Maya.

What is your favourite creative or relaxing outlet?

My favourite creative and relaxing outlets are: sewing, making things out of fabric, listening to music (all genres) and reading stories.  

Where have you worked before?

I used to work at a tattoo studio! You might be surprised to hear this but I think that a tattoo studio and a primary school have lots of similarities- every day is different, there are always new faces and everybody is creative and interesting (and there’s lots of paperwork). After that, I worked in a high school and now I am at Clifton Hill Primary School!

What do you wish you knew more about?

Gardening. I would like to learn how to start a garden patch so if you have a green thumb please let me know: when should I start planting this year?
