Junior Art

Sea Creatures by Foundation

These delightful artworks were inspired by Jean Jullien’s Rififi exhibition at the NGV. The students  created fantastic sea creatures using paint sticks and oil pastels in the style of the artist.

Mondrian by Year 1

Year 1 students have been looking at artworks by Dutch artist Piet Mondrian. Many of his artworks use straight lines and primary colours - to achieve similar results, students had fun printing lines with cardboard pieces and black paint. They used oil pastels for the primary colours.

Bird Collages by Year 2

Year 2s have been exploring the colourful bird artworks by local artist Pete Cromer.

Students used coloured paper to collage a bird artwork, either based on a real bird or creating their own bird design. Details were added by cutting various shapes and adding patterns with fineliners. Beautiful!

Papier Mache Friends by Year 3

Upcycling cardboard and newspaper, the Year 3 students have been working hard to create these delightful 3D papier-mâché animal portraits. Paint and markers were used to bring the animals to life. Well done Year 3s!
