Principal's Update

2024 has started with our new Year 7 students commencing their educational and boarding journey at MITS. The students have formed some great initial connections and have brought with them amazing enthusiasm and energy. 

In Year 8 we have 22 students back who have started the year in great form after enjoying their holidays. In both classrooms the teachers have created excellent routines and the learning and teaching foundations have been set for a positive year ahead. We have already commenced our Science partnership with Melbourne University for the year and the students are into the swing of learning in the classroom.

On Friday we held our first school assembly for the year, and we announced the captains for Term 1. Introducing our Year 7 Captains, Christello and Cataleya! In Year 8 our captains are Harmony and Latia! Congratulations to these four students who I am sure will represent their peers with pride.

We also handed out awards for our MITS values of Respect, Courage, Care and Culture, as well as Boarding and Academic awards. Congratulations to the students recognised by the teachers for their success in the first three weeks of school.
