Rotations

Students in Prep to Year 3 have begun their Monday afternoon rotations for Term 3. This week with Ellen, Preps and Year 1s played some drama games including the popular Zip, Zap, Zop. The Year 2s conducted The Fizzy Lava Lamp science experiment with Kim. 

The Year 3s made chocolate beetroot cake in Kitchen Garden with Kathryn. They also picked some oranges from the school garden to squeeze and make lemon and orange cordial. Students from Year 3 -6 who didn't ski on Wednesday made beetroot and yoghurt dip and cut up some carrot sticks. All of these tasty treats were served up to some lucky students for afternoon tea on Wednesday.

The Year 4 to 6 students are rotating through circus and animation with Anna, and art and craft sessions with Steph on Friday afternoons. 

National Tree Day

To celebrate National Tree Day, our Year 3/4 students were invited by Cathy Gunn, on behalf of our local Landcare Volunteer Group, to help plant trees along the Pebble Beach Walking Track. It was a brisk but sunny morning spent connecting with members of our local community while digging holes, gently loosening the roots, and planting more than 100 native trees. Students also helped hammer in support stakes, place tree guards, spread mulch, and water each new planting to give the trees the best possible start.

This hands-on experience gave students the opportunity to care for the local environment while working alongside dedicated community volunteers. The trees they planted will provide habitat, improve the landscape, and create a lasting legacy for future generations to enjoy.

100 Days of School

This week our Prep students were excited to celebrate 100 days of school.  Students created a timeline necklace by threading beads onto lengths of ribbons, marking the timeline out in groups of ten. This activity incorporated maths, fine motor skills, patience and resilience.

 They where quite surprised at how long their necklaces turned out to be.
