PREP 100 DAYS OF SCHOOL
Our Prep students celebrated their 100 Days of School on Wednesday, and it was wonderful to see them enjoying such a fun and memorable day. Thank you to the Prep team for organising this special celebration.
UPCOMING EVENTS
We have several exciting events taking place this term to promote student engagement and provide enjoyable learning experiences.
Year 5 Camp. Next week, from Wednesday 5th to Friday 7th August, Year 5 students will attend camp in Kyneton. A significant amount of planning and preparation is required to ensure camp is both safe and enjoyable for everyone. Thank you to the Year 5 team and Mr Ramage for their organisation and hard work.
Book Week. As part of our Book Week celebrations, two authors will visit the school on Monday 24th August to speak with students about their experiences as writers. On Wednesday 26th August, students are encouraged to come to school dressed as a favourite book character. Costumes should be school appropriate (e.g. no toy guns or swords). Students participating in the parade are asked to bring the book featuring the character they have chosen.
Whole-School Swimming Program. We are pleased to once again offer our whole-school swimming program, providing students with the opportunity to develop important water safety skills and confidence in the water. The program will be held at Leisurelink from Monday 7th to Thursday 17th September. Students will travel to and from Leisurelink by bus, with lessons delivered by qualified swimming instructors before returning to school.

TEACHING AND LEARNING
At this week's after-school meeting, teachers worked in teams to share the Opportunities to Respond implementation plans they developed earlier this term. Providing students with frequent opportunities to respond helps maintain engagement, strengthens understanding and maximises learning. It was terrific to see staff sharing their progress, reflecting on their practice and learning from one another.
2027 FOUNDATION ENROLMENTS
A reminder that enrolment applications for children commencing Foundation (Prep) in 2027 are due at the school office today, Friday 31 July.
STUDENT SAFETY
Members of the public recently contacted the school to express concerns about students crossing busy roads without checking for oncoming traffic, with some near misses involving vehicles. We appreciate this feedback and encourage all parents and carers to take a few moments to remind their children about the importance of road safety, including using designated crossings where possible, stopping, looking carefully for traffic and crossing only when it is safe to do so.
COLLECTIBLE TOYS
We kindly ask that students do not bring Ooshies or other collectible toys to school for trading. Trading can sometimes lead to disagreements, lost items, and distractions during the school day. We appreciate your support in helping students keep these items at home.
CLASSROOM TABLES
During term 2 we were able to upgrade our year 5 classroom tables. Therefore, we have a supply of our old classroom tables which we can offer to families for free. If you would like a table or two please contact the office.
