Ready Skills

During Week 3, Year 9/10 selected students, Clontarf and Stars students, had the opportunity to participate in a fantastic Ready Skills workshop with Bridie, building the confidence and practical skills needed to prepare for the workforce.

Throughout the program, students explored a range of essential employability skills, including:

• Learning how to tie a tie – an important skill for corporate and business workplaces.

• Creating professional resumes and completing real job applications for employers such as Subway, Domino's and RSM. Some students were so well prepared that they even secured interview invitations within minutes of applying!

• Understanding the importance of appropriate workwear, workplace safety and personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Developing interview skills 

Students also put their new skills into practice through mock interviews and completed a budgeting challenge, creating a weekly grocery shop for a family of four with a budget of under $100.

A huge thank you to Bridie from Ready Skills for delivering such engaging, practical sessions and equipping our students with valuable life and employment skills that will benefit them well beyond the classroom. We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, participation and growth shown by all of our students over the three days.
