Cody's Polocrosse Acheivement

Former Inverell High School student, Cody Woodward, was selected to represent Australia in the Men's Polocrosse Team that competed in South Africa recently. We couldn’t be prouder to see him reach this incredible milestone. Congratulations, Cody! 

Polocrosse is a dynamic team sport that combines elements of polo and lacrosse, played on horseback and requiring exceptional skill, agility, and teamwork. 

For game one against South Africa, the men's team was defeated 28  - 26. Australia was triumphant in game two coming away with a 33 - 21 win. In game three, Australia went down in another close scoreline, 30-26. 

Sydney Sixers Primary School Cricket Bash

On July 30, Inverell High School’s cricket volunteers had a fantastic experience umpiring at the Sydney Sixers Primary School Cricket Bash. 

They were lucky enough to snap a photo with Jake Scott  and Emma Manix-Geeves, making it an unforgettable day for everyone involved. Thanks to the Sixers for an inspiring event. 

North West Athletics

On July 31, students travelled to Tamworth for the North West Athletics. 

They took part in a range of events, competing alongside other schools. We are proud of everyone for their efforts, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Several students achieved personal bests, and some qualified for the next stage.

Toby Morgan - 1st 100, 1st 200  (also 100 and 200 metre hurdles)

Koby's USA Basketball Tour

Koby M in year 11 has recently returned from an incredible three-week basketball tour of the USA after being selected through AUSA Hoops, one of Australia's leading pathways to US college basketball.

Koby first attended an AUSA Hoops trial and coaching clinic in Sydney last November, with the goal of receiving personalised feedback to help prepare for the 2026 representative basketball season. Following his performance and dedication, he was selected to join the 2026 USA Tour during the recent school holidays and Week 1 of this term.

The tour began in Texas, where Koby experienced life as a college athlete. He stayed on campus, attended daily study halls, trained with experienced college coaches, and gained valuable insight into the expectations of the US college basketball system. The first part of the tour was based at Arlington before moving to Bryan–College Station for the remainder of the program.

One of Koby's proudest achievements was being selected as Team Captain for the duration of the tour—a well-deserved honour recognising his leadership, commitment and character.

After an intensive week of training, Koby and his teammates competed in two weeks of high-level tournaments against American high school basketball teams, providing an unforgettable opportunity to challenge themselves against strong international competition.

Congratulations, Koby, on this outstanding achievement. We are incredibly proud of your dedication, leadership and willingness to embrace such an exciting opportunity. We look forward to seeing you build on this experience throughout the 2026 representative season and beyond.

Netball Schools Cup

On Wednesday, August 5, we were proud to have five teams representing our school at the Netball Schools Cup held here in Inverell. All of our teams displayed outstanding skill, teamwork and determination throughout the day. Congratulations to our 9/10 Boys, 9/10 Girls, and 7/8 Girls teams, who all finished the day undefeated in their divisions. Our 7/8 Boys also had a fantastic tournament, winning their division despite having to play against the older 9/10 Boys during the day. They rose to the challenge, competed with great determination, and should be incredibly proud of their efforts. Our second 7/8 Girls team also had an excellent day, continuing to develop their skills, build confidence and enjoy the opportunity to compete together.

A huge thank you to all of our students for the wonderful sportsmanship, encouragement and support they showed one another throughout the day. You represented our school with pride, and it was fantastic to see everyone enjoying the competition. Congratulations to all players on a successful day.

U15 Boys Basketball

Our U15 Boys Basketball team travelled to Gunnedah on August 6 and came away with an impressive 64–36 victory over Gunnedah High School. The win secures their place in the Regional Final against Oxley High School. Congratulations to the team on a fantastic performance. Every player contributed to the win, displaying great teamwork, determination and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the day.

A big thank you to Noah P for refereeing and to Mr Mather for coaching the team and accompanying the boys to Gunnedah.

Good luck in the Regional Final!

U15 Netball Gala Day

On August 11, our U15 Girls Netball team competed in a gala day against Macintyre High School and Warialda High School.

Despite the freezing and dreary conditions, our girls came away with two substantial wins! Both games were played with great sportsmanship, teamwork and enthusiasm.

We are incredibly proud of the way our girls represented our school both on and off the court. Well done, girls!
