New Facilities at MPPS

We are delighted that many stages of our building projects have now been completed and are excited to see the final elements coming together.

Last week, we officially opened our new Sports and Performing Arts Centre. We are incredibly grateful to our previous School Council Presidents, Mary Barry, Chris Arnott and Martin Lawrence, along with their School Council members, for their vision and leadership in bringing this outstanding facility to life. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this significant milestone for our school community.

Our students and staff are already making the most of the new space. This week, we proudly held our first whole-school assembly in the gymnasium, and students have been enjoying using the facility during PE lessons with Jacqui as well as at break times.

Our former multipurpose hall at the southern end of the main building has now been transformed into our new Library. At present, the space is being used as temporary classrooms while our Junior classes relocate during the replacement of the junior building's slate roof. Once these works are complete, we will begin setting up our beautiful new Library with newly purchased furniture featuring Indigenous-inspired colours and patterns. Watch this space!

Landscape Master Plan

Last Thursday, our current School Council President, Scott Featherston, officially launched our landscape master plan. Scott announced that the Phase 1 works, futsal pitch and half basketball courts, will be completed over the September school holidays. This project is proudly funded by money our community has already raised.

Scott has invited all MPPS families to consider supporting our next major fundraising project—a newly reconfigured and resurfaced oval with new goal posts at each end. This ambitious project will require our community to work together to raise approximately $250,000. All donations are tax deductable.

Every $1000 dollar donation will be acknowledged with a personalised brick. The first 200 bricks will be installed as part of the futsal pitch and basketball half court project.

Smaller donations between $100 - $999 will be acknowledged with the families’ name on a larger paver to be installed alongside the new oval.

Please nominate your donation for a brick or joint paver using the below link:

We encourage every family to consider whether they can contribute in any way. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help us create another outstanding space for our students to learn, play and thrive.

Thank you to Naomi!!

On behalf of our entire school community, we would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank Naomi Hayes, our outstanding Business Manager and MPPS parent. Naomi has been the key liaison with the architects and builders throughout every stage of these projects. She has worked tirelessly through the planning, design and construction phases, always demonstrating a positive, can-do attitude, exceptional communication, outstanding organisational skills and unwavering dedication. Thanks to Naomi's commitment and hard work, our students and staff will enjoy these beautiful new facilities and learning spaces for many years to come.

Looking forward to seeing you around school.

Kind regards,

Sue Gordon
