Inspiring the Next Generation: The Department of Treasury and Finance - Mentoring Women in Economics

Three VCE Economics students had the unique opportunity to participate in the Mentoring Women Program run by the Department of Treasury and Finance. Akhila G, Jessica R and Kathleen Z were accepted into the program designed to empower young women with a keen interest in economics. In small groups, our students were paired with mentors from diverse economic specialisations. 

These mentors, each an accomplished professional in their field, played a crucial role in guiding and inspiring the next generation of women economists. With their wealth of experience and expertise, the mentors shared their own journeys, offering invaluable insights into various career paths within economics. One of the program's highlights was a tour of the Victorian Parliament House. This visit provided a valuable opportunity to witness first hand the inner workings of our parliamentary system.
