WABIAD

‘Write a Book in a Day’ Winning Writers!

This year’s ‘Write a Book in a Day’ competition saw 1,939 teams comprised of 14,073 passionate writers compete from across the country. Huntingtower returned to the competition for the first time since 2018, with eleven teams and almost a hundred students participating back in term three. Our writers embraced the competition with enthusiasm for a furious, stressful, fun and rewarding challenge: to plan, write and illustrate a story book of 5,000 words within twelve hours. All teams did an outstanding job, and all their books were shared with children who are undergoing cancer treatment in hospitals around the country, to provide them with a bit of joy and a positive message to help support them.

In very exciting news, we can announce that our students have done outstandingly well and have taken out some huge prizes in this year’s competition:

Their books truly are outstanding, so if you have the chance we recommend having a read for yourself: they are some exceptionally talented writers and illustrators!
