The welfare of each child and young person studying at Huntingtower is our key priority. We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy towards child abuse and are fully dedicated to promoting child safety.

Our unwavering commitment is to create a nurturing school environment where safety and security are paramount. We believe in valuing our students' active participation, respecting their perspectives, and ensuring their voices are heard when it comes to decisions that impact their lives. Under Ministerial Order 1359, Huntingtower is mandated to uphold child safety standards while considering the unique needs of all children, including but not limited to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, children with disabilities, and those who are vulnerable. This directive shapes our commitment to creating a child-safe environment.

Every member of our team, whether employed or volunteering at Huntingtower, holds a significant responsibility in fostering a child-safe culture. We emphasise the importance of understanding one's specific role in ensuring the well-being and safety of all students, placing these values at the forefront of every action and decision. Students who ever feel unsafe are encouraged to reach out to one of our dedicated Child Safety Champions (as pictured below). As a parent, guardian or a community member, If you suspect any form of child abuse or unsafe behaviour within our community, please report it immediately to a Child Safety Champion. Your vigilance is essential in maintaining a secure environment.

The School has designated Child Safety Champions who are trained to handle child safety concerns. If you or your child ever have any worries or doubts, please don't hesitate to reach out to them.

If you have any feedback, questions, or concerns please contact our team via our dedicated Child Safety email address at ChildSafety@Huntingtower.vic.edu.au
