Welcome to Week 4. This week we remembered Reformation Day. We wore red on the day to signify the work of the spirit. We heard from Pastor Ben about Luther’s 95 theses and how he nailed them to the church door in an effort to question some of the practices of the day sparking the birth of the Lutheran Church as we know it. Luther proclaimed that the Bible is the central authority of God’s word and that individuals may reach salvation only by their faith and not by their deeds. Our school is still guided by this understanding of the Gospel, and we strive to be a place of grace, love and forgiveness. As a school we look forward to recognising Reformation Day each year, and that through faith we receive the saving and forgiving love of Jesus Christ.

Children’s University graduation was also held this week with a huge number of children graduating. It was an honour to be gowned up with them as they proudly walked across the stage. Next Friday the children will receive their graduation bears in their caps and gowns in front of their peers at assembly. We encourage you to come and watch them and cheer on their efforts. Thanks to the families who supported their children’s learning and a special thanks to Ms Sharreena who has been the driving force behind the program. Looking forward to a third successful year with Children’s University.

Teachers have asked me to remind families that lollies and soft drinks are not appropriate for school and are not great brain food. We are finding that children are bringing large packets of treats and sharing them out among their friends. This is problematic as different children have different dietary requirements and sharing food is not allowed at school for this reason. Please remind your children to leave their sugary treats at home.

At this time, we are full steam into planning for 2024. We are ordering resources and uniform supplies and planning classes. For this reason, we again remind families that according to their enrolment contract we require a full term's notice of intention to depart to avoid paying a term's fee in lieu of notice. This is also a good time to remind families that fee statements are required to be settled by the close of the school year. If your family is having trouble making payments, please reach out to me at lisa.goldsworthy@ntschools.net as there are several scholarships and lines of support we can put you in touch with.

Finally, Foundation 2024 and their parents came for their first orientation this week. They made themselves at home and feel part of the furniture already. Next week is our second orientation so if you have a friend or family member who hasn’t enrolled, please tell them to get in contact so they can join in next week. Places are limited and capped for 2024 so if you are intending to enrol do so ASAP.
