Sustainability Club

Winners are Wormy Grinners - Wonderful Worms Competition

A big congratulations goes out to our Grade 5A Sustainability students, Grace, Maeve & Summer who have won the judges 'special mention award' of a $50 voucher, for their video about the importance of worms. Soil Week Australia raise awareness of the importance and benefits of healthy living soil and empower the people of Australia to take action.

The students are considering what sustainable project they can spend their winnings on!

We WON a SUBPOD composting system!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Because you all signed up to Subpod, we won a Subpod Composting System for our school, valued at $549.00. We plan for this new system to be added to Stage 2 of the garden development on the oval area.

Calling all Gardening Volunteers! Seriously we NEED YOU!

Once a week Aasta holds a Sustainability Club during lunch time. The students are involved in all sorts of sustainability activities including; gardening, plant propagation, planting, harvesting, watering, weeding, nature hunts, data collection, go on excursions and so much more.

As our gardens expand, and the interest in sustainability increases, the amount of jobs and students attending is also growing. We are looking for some regular parent/family/community volunteers who would be interested in supporting this club.

So if you know someone who would be keen to get their hands dirty once a week or once a fortnight for an hour please contact Aasta via the office, Art room or on: aasta.dearnaley@education.vic.gov.au
