Cultural Day

REMINDER to place orders by 22 NOVEMBER 5pm

 

Junior School Council invites all students to join them in celebrating our many cultures on Friday 24th November 2023!

 

Students will be able to select one of the options below:-

1 - Dress in traditional attire from your country or a culture you have a connection with.

2 - Dress in the colours of a country flag that you have visited or enjoy researching (red, white, and green for Italy)

3 - Ribbons in the colour of a country flag that you have visited or know about (red and white for Turkey)

Please note, that any student not wanting to participate in the above are to wear school uniform.

This is not a football colours day or dress up costume day.

Each class will spend time on the day discussing Multiculturalism and then researching and completing a poster about a Cultural Celebration and will present this for students and families to look at on the afternoon during assembly.

Shine Blue For SIDS...

On Monday 6th of November, students were invited to purchase a temporary tattoo and a blue iced donut to fund-raise for the charity 'Rivers Gift' and spread awareness for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

Daniel Lim In Elvis!

Chilwell is very excited to announce one of our students will be playing the role of young Elvis in the upcoming theatre performance 'Elvis - A Musical Revolution'

 

Daniel Lim from 6MG has spent nearly 2 weeks rehearsing in Sydney at end of Term 3 and another week in Melbourne before shows started. 

He was lucky to be selected to perform on opening night. (He shares the role of Young Elvis with 3 other children, so they do 2 shows each a week). 

 

Daniel has had to learn to speak in a southern American accent. He was even trained by the same dialect coach that trained Austin Butler, who plays Elvis in the recent movie!

 

By the time this newsletter is published he will have already done 6 shows. Daniels performance dates for November have been released, (Please see image below for Daniels specific performance night) if you are interesting in supporting him, tickets are available via the link below.
