WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING (2 of 2)

PRIMARY DISCO

BY KRISTA LA GRECA (ADMINISTRATION)

On Friday, 11th September, 239 energetic Primary students hit the dance floor for our Annual Primary Disco. It was an unforgettable evening packed with high-energy music, fun games, a crowd-favourite bubble machine, and fantastic light displays.

The night was a resounding success, raising valuable funds for our upcoming Year 12 Missions Trip to Thailand.

We extend a huge thank you to parent and DJ Andrew Petrie, who generously donated his time and talents to keep the energy soaring all night. Special thanks also go to the students, staff and volunteers whose hard work made this wonderful community event possible!

PREP EXCURSION

BY TIFFANY RUSSON (PREP - YEAR 2 COORDINATOR)

Last week, our Prep students visited Chesterfield Farm as part of our inquiry unit on community helpers. Farmers play an important role in our community by growing our food and caring for animals, so this local excursion gave our students a fantastic chance to see their work up close. Excitement was high as the children boarded the bus for the short trip to the farm.

We had great weather for the day, with clear blue skies and plenty of sunshine. From the moment we arrived, the students jumped straight into a range of activities to learn about daily farm life.

One of the highlights was the tractor ride, where students took a tour around the paddocks. They also visited the dairy shed to learn how farmers produce milk, and several Preps even tried milking a cow themselves!

The students loved meeting the baby animals in the nursery. They had the chance to pet lambs, goats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. Another exciting moment was watching the sheep dog show, where the students saw how a trained dog helps the farmer herd sheep.

To end the visit, the Preps enjoyed hand-feeding the farm animals. The goats, deer and camels were very hungry, which brought lots of laughs as they ate right out of the children's hands.

By the time we got back on the bus, the students were tired but happy. The trip was a great way to connect our classroom learning about community helpers to the real world.

Thank you to the parent helpers who joined us for the day!
