Principal's Report

Dear Parents,
I hope this newsletter finds you well. I do like to use this space to share what is going on around the grounds, events that have taken place and exciting adventures our school is taking but today is more of a personal note. I would like to use this newsletter to share a personal story of a simply amazing woman from my life!
I would have to count myself as a ‘lucky one’ for countless years. I was privileged to be able to spend the early parts of June celebrating my Great Grandma. The years would always tick away and I was always greeted with the same phrase from her… well Alyce, maybe just one more year, and I got to hear that for 110 years!
Sitting with this remarkable woman, who has witnessed significant historical events and seen the world evolve in unimaginable ways, gives me a whole different perspective of life. This woman has seen multiple wars and global pandemics, the evolution of technology, countless world leaders and most recently the change of a monarch. I must admit it was pretty exciting to see, amidst her 9 letters from the Queen, her first letter from the King - I’m not sure when we will see this again!
She was not short of a story to tell or a life lesson to share - what was her secret to such a long life? Well, according to her it was simple… work hard, exercise and a crusty loaf of bread! As June rolled in, I often find myself reflecting on what advice she would share with me today.
On a related note, I will be taking the last two weeks of this term as long service leave. My family and I will be visiting her hometown to reunite her with the church where she was baptised—an adventure long in the planning. In my absence Mrs Angela Foale will be Acting Principal.
Take care
Alyce Lowther

Instructions on how to do this are attached. We request that at least one parent/guardian from every family downloads the App or accesses the Portal online prior to the reports becoming available.
