Term 2 - Week 11
Grade 1 & 2
Term 2 - Week 11
This term is quickly coming to an end and we have had a wonderful first semester. We’ve shared lots of learning, joys and challenges.
In our Inquiry, the children have made kites out of paper bags, to reinforce toy making, and we discovered how heat can change things. It was amazing and lots of fun when we observed changes to corn kernels while making popcorn. Last week we made paper airplanes, observing and testing the variety of forces and styles of planes needed to help fly the plane the furthest.
Wheelie Wednesday was a great day and everyone enjoyed wheeling (riding) around and showing off the variety of wheelie choices there are.
In Religious Education the children learnt about the two Encyclical letters Pope Francis wrote to the world about ‘love’. They were called Laudato Si’ and Dilexit nos. It is about caring for our common home- caring for God, each other and the world. We invite you to watch a clip about the ‘Laudato Si’ and how important it is for us all to share this love.
Thank you for all your love and support throughout the term and we look forward to semester two and everything that will bring. Wishing you all a safe, wonderful and restful holiday.
