Building Bollards

With a brand-new fabrication wing on campus, the possibilities are truly endless!

For less than a quarter of the original quoted cost, our incredibly skilled maintenance team designed and built these impressive bollards for various areas around the college.

Using equipment like a pedestal drill, a buzzer and thicknesser (to transform rough sawn timber into dressed material), a drop saw for precision cuts, and a stick welder, the team created the bollards entirely from raw timber and materials. Everything was fabricated on-site—except for the galvanising, which was completed externally. Once the galvanised components returned, the team handled the final assembly and installation.

And the results speak for themselves—they look fantastic!

A big congratulations to the team for showcasing their craftsmanship and pride in their work. The college always looks incredible!

Looking after staff wellbeing

Staff wellbeing is just as important as student wellbeing. Staff with good mental health and wellbeing are likely to be more productive, confident, resilient and engaged. They also take less unplanned leave and stay in their roles longer. That is why teaching staff spent half of their Professional Development day on Tuesday this week dedicated to their mental wellbeing. Staff enjoyed activities including pottery with Visual Arts Learning Mentor Mark Almond, golf, a book club and time for self reflection.

Justice of the Peace on Staff!

Here at St Anne's College we have our wonderful learning mentor Ellie Phillips who is also a Justice of the Peace.

Ellie says ... I am a Justice of the Peace officer and am available to sign statutory declarations, witness signatures and certify documents for members of the community. This is a free service.  I work on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays and am happy to assist during non-teaching times, including before school, break times and after school.

Please send Ellie an email to organise a suitable time.
